Solar Charged Thrust Car

Make fast and fun solar-charged cars! These working models are inspired by the Landspeed world record cars. TCPL offered this activity over the summer of 2022. This activity is great for introducing participants to circuitry and alternative energy sources.

Autonomous Robot Racer: Analog Mode

Make an autonomous wall-detecting robot. This robot is completely analog and does not use any microcontroller. The Tompkins County Public Library used this robot to hold weekly robot racing events.

Autonomous Robot Racer: Scratch Mode

In this project, you'll learn how to make an autonomous wall-detecting robot. This robot uses an Arduino Nano and Scratch to avoid walls and race around the track. The Tompkins County Public Library used this robot to hold weekly robot racing events.

Autonomous Robot Wrestling

These robots are an easy-to-print modular system focused on autonomous wrestling. In this activity, participants upload Scratch code through mBlock to an Arduino Nano that sets a pattern of behavior their robot will follow.
